The
Lady Builders cruise to a 78-53 triumph over Kansas Wesleyan Wednesday night.
This victory improves their conference record to 6-3, putting them at fourth on
the KCAC table.
On
the opening possession, Jordan Hobbs, senior guard, made a three point bucket
to take the lead and never look back. The Ladies started with nine unanswered
points that gave them a cushion throughout the game. They never let Kansas
Wesleyan within eight points.
Sophomore
guard, Tiffany Rieger, led both teams in scoring with 20 points and 12 coming
from behind the arch. The team shot a collective percentage of 43 from the
field.
“We
passed the ball well and knocked down shots. Playing great offense lead to
better defense. We played individual and team defense well,” said Montana
Rickey, senior forward.
The
builders out rebounded Kansas Wesleyan 55-22. Jana Reichenberger, junior
forward, led her team with 17 boards, nine of which were defensive.
Rickey
stated, “we will continue to play hard and together. We will finish out the
conference season playing our kind of basketball.”
The Ladies are set to face second ranked Tabor at
5p.m. Jan. 22 in Hillsboro, Kan.
